The International Planning Group and the Center for Research and Development of Higher Education of the University of Tokyo are seeking students from overseas for the following TA/part-time job in order to develop a new MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) titled “Studying at Japanese Universities” for international students planning to study in Japan.

JOB INFORMATION

1. DUTIES
A) Interviewee: To be interviewed regarding your daily campus life on film (and/or have their daily life covered for the MOOC)
B) Student cast: To act as MC and/or a partner to the lead instructors in the course video
C) Course Teaching Assistant (Course TA): To assist the online course operation work (e.g. respond to learners, moderate online forums)

2. NUMBER OF STUDENTS TO BE HIRED
A) Interviewee: approximately 10 students
B) Student cast: approximately 3~4 students
C) Course TA: approximately 5~6 students

3. PERIOD, WORKING HOURS, WORKPLACE
A) 2-3 hours (exact video shooting schedule will be during June 13-15 and/or late June, TBD)
B) 3-5 hours (exact video shooting schedule will be during June 13-15 and/or late June, TBD)
C) 5-15 hours/week, starting from August 1, 2016 (will ends in March, 2017) Workplace: TBA (Hongo or Komaba Campus)

4. PAYMENT/STIPEND
A) 4500 yen / session (2-3 hours)
B) 9000 yen / session (4-5 hours)
C) 1000-1200 yen / hour (5-15 hours/week The salary will be dependent upon the type of job)
The salary will be transferred to each international student’s bank account. Copyright and related rights of the course will belong to the University of Tokyo.

5. QUALIFICATIONS
- International undergraduate, graduate and exchange students from overseas enrolled at the University of Tokyo (Japanese students who works closely with international students are also eligible)
- Fluency in English (The ability to conduct daily conversation in Japanese is an asset but not required.)
- Be available during working hours/period listed above
- Must be 20 years of age or over
NB: Work permit is basically not necessary.

6. APPLICATION PROCESS
<Step 1> Send your information via the following application form.
Screening results will be sent to applications’ email address in the application form by June 6, 2016.

<Step 2> Successful applicants will be asked to attend the interview on campus during June 7-9 (Schedule TBA).
Interview results will be notified directly to the applicant’s email address by June 10. (If you wish to withdraw, please let us know as soon as possible.)
